COVID-19

We thank God that we have been able to have services every week throughout this ordeal.  We remain vigilant to remain safe while continuing in our mission.
We have two top priorities:
1. Spreading the gospel.
2. Not spreading the virus.
No matter what decisions are made, there is risk of error.  And so we each must prayerfully consider what is most important to us.
As a church, we want to err on the side of trying...making a spiritual effort...doing our best to be a solid rock for our people in uncertain times.  A frightened world needs a fearless church.  When much is changing in our world, we want to be an unchanging voice of truth, whether in person in our purposefully sanitized facilities, or online by way of video.

We are closely monitoring the latest developments and following the guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We are also following local developments with a balanced focus of faith over fear and preparation over panic.

Let’s pray for all those affected by COVID-19 and ask God for protection for our church family. Let’s reach out to our elders, widows, and members who are not online. Let’s go forward with our Biblical mandates, tempered with practical common sense. “Social distancing” may be wise as we venture out into the world, but doesn’t have to conflict with obedience to the Lord. And He’s the One in Whom we must place our trust!
Only God deserves the glory for the amazing drive-in and online services we enjoyed together for a short while, in spite of the pandemic.  But it says a whole lot about the kind of people who attend FBC.  Families are joining, people are getting saved and baptized, and the church rolls on!

Tens of thousands still are watching videos, downloading sermons, and sharing our virtual tract.

Please pray for our elderly, widows, and those with weakened immune systems.  Their absence in the early days of this ordeal was certainly understandable.

Remember, watching a video doesn’t include important things like fellowship, stewardship, and service, but it is a way to stay somewhat connected when attendance isn’t an option.

A person looking for an excuse to miss church definitely finds one in this virus, but thankfully that is not the spirit of most at FBC. We will continue in faith and faithfulness , and God will get great glory as the church rolls on with our mission, rather than quickly conforming to the world’s hysterics.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Matthew 16:18
…upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
